Join us for a spooktacular evening of family fun in the heart of Downtown Tappahannock! The annual Prince Street Trunk or Treat is back—featuring decorated vehicles, music, food, games, and more.

Trunk or Treat Festivities Include:

Decorated Vehicles handing out candy
Live music from Hot Mix VA
Free hot dogs and drinks courtesy of the Essex County Sheriff’s Office and Historic Downtown Tappahannock
Bounce house fun for kids
Outdoor movie screening after sunset: “Inside Out 2.”

This event is co-hosted in partnership with the Essex County Sheriff’s Office, a valued community partner who helps bring fun and safety to Prince Street each year.

We’re especially grateful for their support in grilling and distributing free hot dogs and drinks provided by Historic Downtown Tappahannock. Their hands-on presence at the event adds not only great food and friendly faces — but also a sense of safety, service, and community connection that families truly appreciate.

Registration Details

We’d love for you to be part of the event by decorating your vehicle and handing out treats to local families. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase your creativity, connect with the community, and help make Halloween memorable for kids of all ages.

For all trunk participants (those decorating and handing out candy):

Vehicle Arrival Time: 2:00 PM sharp
Entry Location: Water Lane
Parking is first-come, first-served. No saved spots.
Decor & Safety Guidelines: None this year—just keep it fun and family-friendly!
Registration Cutoff: October 30, 2025

🎃 Rules & Regulations

Thank you for participating in this year’s Prince Street Trunk or Treat! Please review the following guidelines to help us ensure a fun, safe, and family-friendly event for all.

🚗 Vehicle Arrival & Setup

Vehicle entry for setup begins at 1:30 PM.
Only vehicles participating in Trunk or Treat will be permitted to enter Prince Street.
All setups — including tents and tables — must be fully completed by 2:45 PM.
Vehicles must remain in place until the event ends at 6:00 PM.
Spaces are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
Electricity is not provided — please plan your display accordingly.
Adult supervision is required for all entries.

🍬 Candy & Giveaway Guidelines

Expect approximately 1,200 children — please plan your candy supply accordingly.
All candy must be individually wrapped and sealed in the original manufacturer’s packaging.
Homemade items (including food or treats) are not permitted.
Promotional items are welcome but should be age-appropriate for children.
No sales or services may be offered at this event.

🎭 Costumes & Displays

Please avoid scary or gory costumes and decorations — children of all ages will be attending.
Businesses and organizations may display one banner or sign at their vehicle.
Displays will be spaced appropriately to encourage comfort and safety.
