Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. From setting up events like the Farmer’s Market and Prince Street Trunk or Treat, to decorating for the Christmas season, and providing behind-the-scenes support, volunteers help make downtown a welcoming, lively, and connected community.

Volunteering is a great way to give back, meet neighbors, and be part of the moments that make downtown special.

Ways to get involved:

Volunteer FAQ

Do I need prior experience to volunteer?
No experience is needed. We’ll provide guidance and support for every role.

Can I volunteer with a group?
Yes. Schools, churches, civic groups, and community organizations are welcome. Please email director@downtowntappahannock.org to coordinate.

How much time do I need to commit?
Some opportunities are just a few hours, while others are ongoing. You can choose what works best for you.

Are volunteers needed year-round?
Yes. While many events are seasonal, planning and projects happen throughout the year.
