Historic Downtown Tappahannock celebrates the preservation and revitalization of a designated Virginia Main Street. As an affiliate of Main Street America, the nonprofit is committed to strengthening the town of Tappahannock through preservation-based economic development with the cooperation of local downtown businesses. Historic Downtown Tappahannock is dedicated to diversifying and expanding business and cultural opportunities while maintaining the historical core of one of Virginia’s most storied towns.

Tappahannock Historic District, encompassing 14 buildings dating back to the 18th century, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Small business leaders, countless volunteers and community stakeholders are passionate about preserving the core of a downtown that remains a central gathering spot for families.
