August 17th Market Highlights:
- Join us in the Wine Garden! Our local wine shop, Act XII Wine and Provisions, will be on site with tastings and a take-away of your favorite selection for $5.00. The Wine Garden will begin at 10:00 am. You can also grab a coupon for 10% off wine-related merchandise from the Tappahannock Museum’s Gift Shop.
- Bring your littles down to the Kidz Corner! Multiple activities will take place beginning at 10:00am at the corner of Prince Street and Water Lane. Mums & Bubs will host a back-to-school themed Story Time followed by Crafts at 10:00am, Tappahannock Art Gallery (TAG) will host Kidz Art beginning at 10:30am, and the Essex County Museum is hosting a Scavenger Hunt with lots of prizes. All activities, including all supplies and materials, are free to the public. Parents are encouraged to participate with their children. Make sure to pick up your Essex County Museum Scavenger Hunt card at the HDT Welcome Tent before heading down to the Kidz Corner.
- This month’s sponsored charity: Maleena’s Wildlife Rescue.We are accepting donations at the August market for Maleena’s Wildlife Rescue. Maleena’s is a 501c3 wildlife rehab facility that rescues, rehabilitates & releases Virginia’s native wildlife. Wish list items include paper towels, Clorox spray/wipes, bleach, unscented baby wipes, dry puppy/cat food, beach towels, baby blankets, dog toys, baby toys, gallon freezer bags, and plastic storage containers.
